Renowned playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has died at a private hospital in Chennai on Friday at age of 74 years. He spread the magic of his voice in many films including Bollywood.
Balasubramanian was born on 4 June 1946 in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. On December 15, 1966, he made his debut as a playback singer with the Telugu film Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna. He has sung nearly 40,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam in a 50-year singing career.
At the same time, the song Didi Tera Dewar Deewana sung with Lata Mangeshkar in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun is still on the tongue of the audience. Just as Kishore Kumar was once considered the voice of Rajesh Khanna, similarly Bala earned a lot of fame in Bollywood by becoming Salman’s voice.
