MP Governor Lalji Tandon passed away at age of 85

Bhopal – Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon died on 21 July Tuesday morning at age of 85. Governor Lalji Tandon was ill for a long time. In politics, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had a great impact on the life of Lalji Tandon, who traveled from Parliament to Parliament and Raj Bhavan. BSP supremo Mayawati considered him her brother and has been tying rakhi to him.

Lalji Tandon’s political journey was started in the year 1960. He also took part in the JP movement against Indira Gandhi’s government due to wichi he also gone to jail. Tandon was elected a councilor twice and was a member of the Legislative Council twice. Lalji Tandon was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council twice from 1978 to 1984 and from 1990 to 1996. During this period, he became a minister in Kalyan Singh government of Uttar Pradesh from 1991-92.

Lalji Tandon himself used to say that Atal Bihari Vajpayee played the role of his partner, brother and father in politics. He was with Vajpayee for nearly 5 decades. Vajpayee had hardly been with any other politician for so long. This was the reason that after Atal Bihari Vajpayee, his political legacy was handled by Tandon in Lucknow and was elected MP.

Lalji Tandon is also known for many important experiments in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. In the 90s, he is also considered an important contributor in forming a coalition government of BJP and BSP in the state. After this, Lalji reached the assembly by winning elections for three consecutive times from 1996 to 2009. BSP supremo Mayawati used to treat her like her elder brother and also tied rakhi. In 1997, he was the Urban Development Minister of the state.
