Landslide Destroyed 40 Houses, Another natural calamity in Maharashtra’s Raigad

Another natural calamity has befallen the people of Maharashtra battling the ongoing heavy rains. These footages are of Irshalwadi village in Khalapur tehsil of Maharashtra. Where more than half of the village got buried in a landslide late on Wednesday (July 19). Two NDRF teams had to be sent to the spot to rescue the tribals buried under the mountain. According to report about 40 houses were destroyed in the landslide where as 127 people were buried under the debris.

If we talk about Raigarh only, then 3 out of 6 rivers are in spate here. The accident site is at Khalapur, 6 km from Chowk village near Morbe Dam. From here water is supplied to Navi Mumbai.

This accident happened at a time when there is flood situation in 4 districts of Maharashtra. Maharashtra Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Anil Patil is constantly monitoring the rescue. As soon as the information about the accident came, CM Eknath Shinde had also left for the spot.
