Fire broke out in Crude oil laden Ship, Indian Navy helped Sri Lanka

India once again set an example of being a good neighbor. In fact, after a fire in a ship laden with crude oil, the Sri Lankan Navy had sought help from the Indian Coast Guard, after which India immediately sent the rescue team.

A Sri Lankan Navy spokesman said that one of the ship’s 23 crew members was missing and another was injured. Navy spokesman Captain Indica Silva said the fire broke out in the engine room of New Diamond, which was transporting crude oil from Kuwait to India and then spread.

It has been written in the tweet that an incident of fire has surfaced in the MT New Diamond off the coast of Sri Lanka. Indian Navy ships in the area have been deployed in the mission, diverted to rescue operations and help. The rescue operation is being carried out with the Sri Lankan authorities.

Earlier, a tweet from the Twitter handle of the Indian Coast Guard was also tweeted regarding this incident. The Indian Coast Guard’s tweet states that ‘MT New Diamond’ is 37 nautical miles east of the Sri Lankan coast. The Indian Coast Guard has said that three ships and Dornier aircraft have been dispatched immediately. In this tweet, there is also talk of a fire in the ship. It is being told that there are about 2 lakh metric tons of crude oil in the ship.
